Purpose. To develop progressive technological schemes of the roof bolting for mine workings with respect to stress distribution around workings. Methodology. Methodology of selection of the support system included the study of stress-strain state, rock pressure manifestations, conditions of working maintenance depending on mining-and-geological, mining-and-technological and mining-engineering parameters in order to determine their influence on the roof bolting efficiency and substantiate the support pattern; ensure stability and reduce deficiency and costs of driving and maintenance. Results. The stress-strain state, mining pressure manifestations, conditions of working maintenance taking into account mining and technological parameters were studied. The study allowed us to determine the extent of influence of the mentioned factors on the efficiency of roof bolting support of workings. Originality. We determined the consistent patterns of change of plastic range of stress and its evolution with time, the stability of working contours depending on mining-and-geological and mining-engineering factors, and the parameters for reliable operation of workings. Based on analytical modelling, the technology, systems and means for driving workings that promote decreasing the deficiency of contours were developed. Practical value. The results of studies focused on development of the technology of intensive and safe working driving on the basis of the revealed regularities of the behaviour of the adjoining rock massifs were presented and optimization of the parameters of technological schemes of first workings were presented. They allow controlling the anthropogenic stress-strain state and raise the efficiency of the technology of marginal rock massif support.

Purpose. Developing an efficient and high accuracy methodology of observing the earth surface deformations when mining minerals by the underground method. Methods. Experimental grapho-analytical methods as well as mathematical modeling were applied. Findings. There is presented a methodology and results of processing the data of observations of the earth surface displacements when mining coal at Kostenko mine of the Coal Department of ArcelorMittal Temirtau JSC, Karaganda Coal Basin. The displacement measurements were performed at points of the small geodetic network using the GNSS technologies with accuracy acceptable for the satellite geodetic network of class 1. The results confirm the GNSS methods effectiveness in studying the earth surface displacements in coal mine conditions. Displacement vectors of the GNSS points were determined; numerical values of the relative vertical and horizontal displacements of the points were obtained. Originality. A new technique for making geodesic measurements was developed when studying the earth surface displacements during its underworking by means of building local small geodynamic networks. For the first time the observations of the earth surface displacements due to its undermining in the territory of the Karaganda coal basin were carried out not along the profile lines but as a result of a detailed surface survey. Practical value. The proposed method for performing geodetic measurements using the GNSS technology to study the earth displacements has made it possible to determine the parameters of the displacement process with a high degree of accuracy and can serve as the basis for organizing geodetic monitoring at all the mines of the Karaganda coal basin. The main tool for monitoring man-made processes was a network of specially designed benchmarks in the field. With systematic monitoring, when initially there are implemented the measures to form a geodynamic polygon, the greatest degree of prediction of the risks of field exploitation is achieved.

Mine workings represent a technological hazard in the absence of devices for their safe development. Purpose - reinforcement of the contours of mine workings as a safety measure of developing mine workings. The study algorithm is represented in the sequence of stages considering the depth of the excavation, the orientation of the excavation relative to the coal seam, the structure of the coal-bearing layer, the mechanical characteristics of the enclosing array in the preliminary and limit state of typical cross section of the development, the construction and technological characteristics of the supports. The study offers data that indicate that if the development area belongs to a flooding area, then the re-installation of finger bars can be less effective by more than 40 %. Field studies have shown that when the second-level roof bolting is installed in workings, which are used repeatedly, then they are most likely to have deformed parts in the roof and sides. For the first time mathematical models for determining the stability of mine workings are used, as well as models that allow extending the contours of mine workings safely. The requirements for materials that allow carrying out reinforcement of contours considering the structure and technological scheme of the applied technology were determined. This article presents a mathematical model, the approbation and verification of the data obtained at the experimental location. Observations were made regarding the state of workings anchored by roof bolting in the vicinity of geological faults in the zone of influence of high rock pressure of Kostenko, Saranskaia, and Abaiskaia Mines of JSC іArcelor Mittal Temirtauі. Effects of primary stresses on opening strength are determined. The acquired technology can be used in a controlled environment for the development of mine workings, which have signs of residual capacity and can be developed at better rates and volumes. Testing the method of automated calculation of anchoring parameters and the implementation of research results can improve the technological schemes of the working. Consistencies in calculating the stability of mine workings from the parameters of anchoring was achieved.
